Vaal Selections
Race 1 – 1200m (Maiden Handicap)
The day opens with a work rider’s maiden handicap, and as always, I don’t offer any suggested bets for these races. If you are playing the punters challenge, then consider choosing CAPTAIN JIM.
Suggested Bet – No Suggested Bet
Race 2 – 1200m (Maiden Handicap)
Caution is advised when betting in this weak maiden race. I will take my chances with PERINI PALACE to confirm her good last few runs. If she can show the same form, she should run well.
Suggested Bet – PERINI PALACE EW @ 5/1✅ EW Place
Race 3 – 1700m (MR 62 Handicap)
It’s another weak race to start the Pick 6, so you must load up. GREEN SCEPTRE has breathing issues and always struggles in running. He has no form, but the jockey booking caught my eye. With Gavin Lerena taking the ride, I will have an EW nibble.
Suggested Bet – GREEN SCEPTRE EW @ 8/1❌
Race 4 – 1700m (MR 82 Handicap)
BANHA BRIDGE needed his second run after a rest and has his peak run now. He should strip fitter and, with some luck, revert back to his form before his break.
Suggested Bet – BANHA BRIDGE EW @ 20/1❌
Betway is the perfect platform for all your sports and casino bets. We recommend registering with Betway and you will receive a 100% first deposit match of up to 2000 ZAR.
Race 5 – 1800m (FM 63 Handicap)
DAMOVA has fair form and ran well in her last start against males. Back against her sex, she is well weighted and can go close, with the apprentice taking 4kgs off.
Suggested Bet – DAMOVA EW @ 7/1✅ EW Place
Race 6 – 1400m (MR 64 Handicap)
LIFE LESSON showed signs of a form return last time, and I am backing her to confirm that run. She carries 48.5kgs, and if she runs a similar race to last time, she can sneak a place.
Suggested Bet – LIFE LESSON EW @ 10/1❌
Race 7 – 1200m (MR 80 Handicap)
It is a speculative punt from me here with LULU’S BOY to turn around his form. Ignore his last few starts, as he was reported not to be striding out and had breathing issues. The eight-year-old is speedy and should be at the front with 500m to go. I am hoping he gets away and leads, and hopefully, he can sneak on at the finish for the back end of trifectas and return some place money.
Suggested Bet – LULU’S BOY EW @ 25/1❌
Race 8 – 1200m (MR 66 Handicap)
AFTER HOURS showed signs of a form return, and it’s encouraging that Smanga Khumalo has retained the ride. He should be mowing them down at the finish if he is not too far back at the 300m.
Suggested Bet – AFTER HOURS EW @ 8/1❌
