Thursday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with an eight-race program from the Vaal Main track. Racing begins at 12:35 and includes a competitive MR 98 Handicap event in Race 7. Race 4 – 2000m (FM 79 Handicap)
I AM REGAL ran well last time and is a big runner in this field. He takes a drop in class, and Muzi Yeni can saddle him to victory.

You can ignore CERULEAN DANCER last start as she did not enjoy the longer trip. Back over her ideal distance, she is a dark horse. Despite taking on stronger in a higher class, I believe she can run into the money. She is carded to race with just 48kgs; that low weight could make the difference.

Race 6 – 1400m (FM 67 Handicap)
RISKY BUSINESS has won her last three races and is in a good space. She has not been heavily penalised for those wins and can complete four wins in a row.

This is a competitive featured race of the day, and you must go wide in the exotics. I am taking a chance on the ultra-consistent OPEN HIGHWAY. He is taking on stronger but carries a low galloping mass of 53kgs. With some luck in running, he should be competitive for a place finish.

Race 8 – 1200m (MR 83 Handicap)
BREGARDT produced a decent first run out of the maidens. Despite having a nosebleed, he ran on well and will come on from that effort. He gets the appie claim and runs with just 48.5kgs. With some luck, he can run into the money and end the day on a good note for us.
