TAKE YOUR PLACE has good form and her first win is around the corner. The filly was narrowly beaten in her last two starts and, with better luck, can win. Muzi Yeni takes the ride, and he can help shed her maiden tag.

PANNING GOLD has been costly to follow and has been a beaten favourite in four of his last starts. He has consistent form, and his maiden win is not far away. I expect another strong showing here.

Race 4 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
BREATH OF MAGIC is a seasoned maiden and may not beat the favourite LETS PLAY POKER. However, he can finish the best of the rest and fill out the exacta. I’d rather take an EW bet on him at 5/1 than take a 5/10 win bet on the favourite.

It is a competitive Pinnacle race, and I believe I found some value in SHELDON. The five-year-old is a quality sprinter and is having his second run after a break. Ignore his last run, as he needed that effort after seven months off. He should strip much fitter now and can go close for connections.

Race 8 – 1600m (MR 86 Handicap)
ELEMBEE should have won her last few starts but was unlucky in running. She encountered heavy traffic issues and had no running room. She carries 59kgs and, with better luck in running, can win. If this run has not come too soon from her last start, she represents excellent EW value in the lucky last.
