Tuesday’s horse racing action is available from Gqeberha, with an eight-race program from the Fairview Poly track. Racing begins at 12:20 and includes a competitive Graduation Plate in Race 3. ROYAL VENUS produced an eye-catching run last time when finishing second. She is well weighted in this open maiden and should be competitive.

It is a small field here, and as the saying goes, ‘the smaller the field, the bigger the upset.’ I am backing HEART OF THIEVES to run well. He is way out at the betting at 25/1, but with a handy mass of 53kgs, he can sneak a place.

SUMMER ODYSSEY is having her second run after a rest. She should strip fitter and has good form lines. With some luck, she can run into the money.

GALAXY MOMENT last two starts have been decent. She carries a handy mass here in this open maiden and should be included in all bets. I think she can finish in the top three.

Race 7 – 1200m (Classified Stakes)
COASTAL PATH was his own worst enemy last time, as he hung in the final stages. He is weighted to go close and, with better luck in running, is the horse to beat.

Race 8 – 1000m (FM 72 Handicap)
KILEIGH’S FATE has shown a form return in her last few starts. In this sprint race, running with a low mass of 52kgs, she has upset potential. A lot will have to go her way, but a small EW bet for an interest in the lucky last.
