Horse Racing Today
Wednesday’s horse racing action is available from the Western Cape, with a nine-race program from the Durbanville Turf track. Racing begins at 12:35 and includes a competitive Class B event in Race 6. Below are our South African horse racing tips, predictions and suggested bets for the day’s racing. The Western Cape has seen plenty of rain and storms in July and August. Racing resumed earlier this month (August 3rd). However, with additional rain, and the abandonment of the August 10th and 13th race meetings, the course is questionable, and betting is tricky. Racing did take place at Durbanville on Saturday (August 17) but was abandoned midway after the jockeys protested about unsafe conditions.
With more rain expected on Wednesday morning, I have decided not to suggest any bets, as I am not confident in tipping horses that are not fit. Also, the surface is unknown, and conditions are a mystery with all the rain. If racing goes ahead, I have suggested some horses to include in your bets. These horses enjoy running in soft, wet conditions, so include them in all your plays.
Update (21 August @ 08:30): Due to additional rain this morning the race meeting was postponed to Friday (23 August).
