Bomber Stream has no form to speak of but could be the upset in this race. We like him here for three reasons: a good draw, Richard Fourie on board, and he gets the blinkers fitted. He represents excellent EW value for three places.

Race 3 – 1200m (MR 86 Handicap)
Voldemort lost a length at the start in his last race and still ran on well. If he gets away better here, he should fight out the finish. He is in good form, and Rachel Venniker takes 1.5kgs off. From a good wide, we expect him to run into the money.

Race 4 – 2000m (MR 70 Handicap)
National Dream returned to the track after a 10-month layoff and ran ninth. He needed that run and should stripper much fitter now. Before his long layoff, he won three in a row. He loves this course and distance (six races, four wins and a second) and can be competitive off his 70 rating.

Riccardo was not disgraced in his last start behind Flag Man, a 2024 Durban July nominee. He ran well in that middle stakes and can follow up in this field. The six-year-old is in a good space, and with just 56.5kgs on his back, he is a leading contender.

Blackberry Malt is much better than his recent form in KZN. He has his peak run now and can return to his prior attractive Western Cape form. If he can show signs of his previous form, he can run into the money.

Race 8 – 1400m (MR 67 Handicap)
Forest Jump has fair-form lines and can put in another solid run. The seven-year-old is long in the tooth but still enjoys his racing. He gets a good draw of two, and with Rachel Venniker taking 1.5kgs off, he is well weighted with 59kgs. In the lucky last, Forest Jump is the value runner and, at 11/1, can send us home happy with a win.
