Wednesday’s horse racing action is available from KZN, with an eight-race program from the Greyville Poly track. Racing begins at 12:40 and includes a competitive MR 88 Handicap event in Race 5. Below are our South African horse racing tips, predictions and suggested bets for the day’s racing. Race 1 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
I think there is value in FEEL THE WIND in the opener. She is having her first run on the Poly and gets the blinkers fitted as well. She has decent form, and with 56kgs, she is a dark horse for me.
Suggested Bet – FEEL THE WIND EW @ 16/1 Void-Scratched
Race 2 – 1400m (Conditional Maiden)
This is a weaken Conditional Maiden and finding a winner is tough. Most horses have no form, and the two short-priced favourites are moderate at best, with one returning from a long break. For those reasons, I have no suggested bet. However, if you are playing the PA, include both JOAN THE WAD and OH MANDY.

Race 3 – 1400m (FM 78 Handicap)
MISS PAGET has won two of her last three starts. She is in top form with two wins, a second and a third in her last four races. She does have a wide draw, but with some luck, she will be mowing them down at the finish.
Suggested Bet – MISS PAGET EW @ 5/1❌
Race 4 – 1700m (FM 76 Handicap)
SUMMER SONG followed her maiden win with a second and a win. Her last race win has been franked, and she can go close again. I expect another bold run and a top-three finish.

Race 5 – 1600m (MR 88 Handicap)
SHOEFELLA is in a good space with back-to-back wins. The hat trick is on the cards, and he carries a handy mass of 54kgs. He does take on stronger, but that low mass and pole draw should make him competitive.
Suggested Bet – SHOEFELLA EW @ 6/1✅ EW Win
Race 6 – 1400m (MR 79 Handicap)
IMAGINABLE is much better than his last start. He was brushed in running, so ignore that run. Before that run, he had top form and was an ultra-consistent gelding. With better luck, he can fight out the finish.
Suggested Bet – IMAGINABLE EW @ 12/1❌
Race 7 – 1400m (MR 79 Handicap)
VOLDEMORT has good form and is a decent horse who never runs a bad race. He takes a drop in class here and is carded to race with 59.5kgs, so he is a leading contender.
Suggested Bet – VOLDEMORT EW @ 6.5/1❌
Race 8 – 1200m (MR 64 Handicap)
DRIVE BY is a speedy horse and gets the appie claim. Carded to race with 55.5kgs, he has the form and pace to cause an upset in the lucky last. At a generous 15/1 in the betting, I suggest you have a nice EW strike, and let’s hope for the best.
