1X2 Tips For Rugby Fixtures Today

Australia vs France(WIN)1.38 odds

Tip 1: France to win

Reason for the tip: Australia and France will both be determined to bounce back from heartbreaking defeats when they meet in Brisbane in this second round encounter in the Nations Championship. The Wallabies let a 12-point lead slip in a narrow loss to Ireland, while France came within touching distance of upsetting New Zealand before falling by just two points in Christchurch.

Joe Schmidt’s side at times look toothless in attack and have struggled to get over the line in tight encounters.  The biggest talking point is the debut of flyhalf Declan Meredith, who is tasked with steering the Wallabies against the mighty Les Bleus. Captain Harry Wilson, Fraser McReight and Rob Valetini will need to dominate the breakdown if Australia are to challenge France’s powerful pack.

France have made several changes, with Romain Ntamack returning at flyhalf and Matthieu Jalibert shifting to fullback which now gives them two playmakers. Emmanuel Meafou and Peato Mauvaka are two powerhouses which give Les Bleus a significant edge at the set piece. Australia’s home record against France at Suncorp Stadium is impressive, but France’s depth on the bench will prove to be the difference in a tight match.

Fiji vs England(WIN) 1.12 odds

Tip 2: England to win

Reason for the tip: England head into Saturday’s Nations Championship clash with Fiji under intense pressure after suffering five consecutive defeats including a heavy defeat to the Boks in their last match. Anything other than a victory will place Steve Borthwick’s under serious pressure. He has responded by making a few changes, with Henry Slade returning to the starting midfield and Tommy Freeman moving back to the wing. Guy Pepper also comes into the back row, while Fin Smith and Jack van Poortvliet continue in the halfbacks. The powerful George Martin and Ben Earl are expected to lead the forward battle.

Fiji also need a response after a disappointing defeat to Wales. Flyhalf Caleb Muntz takes over the flyhalf duties but it is their scrum and inability to defend the rolling maul that cost them a win in the last match.  Their backline is world class with Salesi Rayasi, Josua Tuisova and Jiuta Wainiqolo providing plenty of firepower if given quality possession. The Islanders have the talent to trouble any defence but they will need to improve their set pieces. I am backing the Three Lions to come away with a narrow win.

Argentina(WIN) 1.14 odds vs Wales

Tip 3: Argentina to win

Reason for the tip: Argentina were shocked in their opening match of the Nations Championship when they lost to Scotland at home. The Pumas have made five changes to their starting XV, with veteran lock Guido Petti set to earn his 100th Test cap. His partnership with Matias Alemanno gives the hosts a formidable presence in the second row, while captain Julian Montoya will lead a powerful forward pack that will be eager to improve on their poor showing last time out.

Felipe Contepomi has also freshened up his front row and backline, with Tomas Albornoz given another opportunity in the ten jersey. His will be tasked with launching their dangerous backline that includes Mateo Carreras and Santiago Carreras.

Wales arrive full of confidence after opening their campaign with a convincing victory over Fiji. Sam Costelow starts at flyhalf, while Ellis Mee replaces Louis Rees-Zammit, who is expected to make an impact from the bench. Captain Dewi Lake, Jac Morgan and Tomos Williams will be central to Wales’s hopes of upsetting the hosts. The home side’s pack will need to be more physical which will allow their backline to get better ball. I am backing the Pumas to bounce back with a commanding win.

Rugby Handicap Betting

Handicap Betting Tips for Today

South Africa vs Scotland: Away team(+19.5)1.91 odds

Reason for tip:The Springboks welcome Scotland to Loftus Versfeld for this second match in the Nations Championships. Both teams will be high in confidence after securing comprehensive wins over England and Argentina respectively. The Scots were particularly impressive as they beat the Pumas at home and without star player Finn Russell. Rassie Erasmus has rotated his squad but retained enough experience to maintain continuity. Handré Pollard returns to direct the attack, while captain Pieter-Steph du Toit, Jesse Kriel and Damian Willemse provide leadership in key positions.

Up front, the battle between Wilco Louw and Pierre Schoeman in the front row will be worth the ticket price alone. Scotland receive a huge boost with the return of Finn Russell, whose creativity and tactical kicking give the visitors their best chance of unsettling the world champions. Sione Tuipulotu, Rory Darge and Jack Dempsey will also need outstanding performances if Scotland are to match the Springboks physically. The Bomb Squad will again be too strong for the visitors therefore I predict a home win but I am backing the Scots to cover the +19.5 handicap.

New Zealand vs Italy: Home team(-31.5)1.91 odds

Reason for tip:New Zealand will look to build on their thrilling victory over France when they host Italy in Wellington in the second round of the Nations Championship. The All Blacks edged Les Bleus 34-32 in an entertaining contest and will be confident of maintaining their unbeaten record against the Azzurri, who have never defeated New Zealand in 18 previous meetings. Head coach Dave Rennie has rotated his squad but retains plenty of quality. Ruben Love continues at flyhalf, while Billy Proctor and Leroy Carter are handed opportunities in the backline. Captain Ardie Savea once again leads the pack, with Wallace Sititi, Tyrel Lomax and Tupou Vaa’i expected to provide the physical edge up front.

Italy arrive looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat to Japan. Experienced fullback Tommaso Allan returns for his 91st Test, while Paolo Garbisi, Juan Ignacio Brex and captain Michele Lamaro will be crucial if the visitors are to challenge the All Blacks. Tommaso Menoncello is the key to the Italians attack, if he has a storming game, then the visitors will be competitive. The All Blacks have too much firepower and will claim a runaway win. I am also backing them to cover the -31.5 handicap.

Japan vs Ireland: Home team(+22.5)1.91 odds

Reason for tip: Japan vs. Ireland in Round 2 of the Nations Championship is set for Saturday at the McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle, Australia. As no team enjoys home advantage in the game, expect a highly entertaining match between the two teams as they continue to fight for a place among the best in the competition.

Coming into the clash riding a five-game winning streak, Ireland is full of confidence and determination in making its mark. The squad, led by captain Tadhg Beirne, boasts of experienced international players such as Robbie Henshaw, Jack Conan and Ronan Kelleher. The team is known for its discipline and structure which made them among the favorites of the tournament.Led by Eddie Jones, Japan is out to prove that it can hold its own among the best in the world. Led by Warner Dearns, the team is fast and athletic and boasts of a veteran like Michael Leitch coming off the bench. I predict an Irish win but am backing the Japanese to cover the +22.5 handicap.

Understanding Rugby Betting

It is crucial that players understand the different types of rugby betting. If a player places a wager on a handicap bet with fully understanding it, he could think they won the bet but instead they lost the bet as they did not understand how it works. Our rugby predictions will give you the option of the three way bet or the handicap betting as our previews will focus on this.

Different types of Rugby bets

Match Winner

The most self-explanatory of bets to take on a rugby match. This is the most common and oldest type of rugby bet in which you select Team A or Team B to win. The odds on this type of bet may be low especially if your team is the favourite.

Draw No Bet

The draw is quite rare in Rugby Union, but it does happen from time to time. If you’re worried about the draw messing up your bet then take a Draw No Bet market. Your bet will be refunded if the match result ends in a draw.

Handicap Betting

The most popular bets on rugby are handicap bets. This is often where some of the best value is to be found. The handicap is an advantage that bookmakers give one team to make the game more balanced. The team given the positive handicap can win, draw or lose the game by less than the handicap to cover the bet and win. The team with the negative handicap must win the match by more than the points set out in the handicap to win their bet.

Total points over/under

The over/under betting market involves predicting whether the total number of points scored in a match will be above or lower than a certain predetermined number. For instance, if you bet on the over/under 50 points market and you bet on under, the combined score of the two teams shouldn’t exceed 50.

First Try Scorer

Rugby fans know the excitement that comes when a player breaks through the defence to score the first try. Betting on the first-try scorer is about predicting which player from either team will cross the try line first. This bet type carries higher odds as it’s challenging to predict, making potential payouts more lucrative.

Anytime Try Scorer

Less specific than the first-try scorer bet, the anytime try scorer wager involves picking a player you believe will score a try at any point during the match. The odds are typically lower than for the first-try scorer but offer a better chance of a payout.
