EPL Predictions Today – 2025/2026 Season Recap

Premier League 2025/2026 Season Recap

The 2025/2026 Premier League has ended. Congrats to Arsenal, the Gunners, for lifting the title again after so many years of waiting. The just-ended EPL season gave us various memorable moments with plot twists.

We’ll go through some of the memorable aspects of the season, featuring not just Arsenal’s historic triumph but also the heavy relegation battle, tactical shifts, and other excellent individual performances.

A Season of Legends: Arsenal Lift The Trophy After 22 Years

This season marks history as Arsenal ended their EPL trophy drought and lifted their first league title in 22 years. They won the league with 85 points, winning 26 games, with 5 defeats and 7 draws.

They were outstanding this season after finishing second in previous seasons. Can this triumph be a launch pad for them next season, as Pep has left City and the league now looks open? We don’t know yet; we’ll see about that when we bring you our 2026/2027 EPL review.

The Premier League 2025/2026 Final Table

[Add the EPL table]

European Football Qualifications: Champions League, Europa League, Conference League

As mentioned, Arsenal lifted the title with 85 points; Manchester City finished second with 78 points; Manchester United, third with 71 points; Aston Villa, fourth with 65 points; and Liverpool, fifth, which completed the Champions League spots.

However, with Aston Villa winning the Europa League, Bournemouth got a chance to enter their open spots, thereby making it 6 Premier League teams in the UCL next season for the second time in a row.

Sunderland qualified for the Europa League, and Brighton will participate in the Conference League next season following their 7th and 8th finish, respectively.

Relegation and Promotions

The 2025/2026 relegation battle was exciting and fierce, with many teams involved. However, it later boiled down to West Ham and Tottenham battling it out until the last day. West Ham United, Wolves, and Burnley suffered relegation to the Championship after a poor season.

Defining Moments & Pivotal Matches

There are many defining moments in the EPL, and below we’ll bring some of the most important ones over the 38-game period of the season.

  1. Matchday 37 – The Turning Point: This was the game week in which Arsenal were crowned champions of England again. Bournemouth did them a favor by holding City to a draw, and that meant that without even playing their last game of the season, they’re champions.
  1. The Milner Record: In the 2025/2026 season, James Milner surpassed Gareth Barry’s all-time Premier League appearance record. He reached a whopping 657 games in Brighton’s victory over Brentford. However, he has retired from professional football, and he is truly a legend of the game.
  1. Match of the Season: Our game of the season was Manchester United vs Brighton on Dec 15th, 2025. The game ended 4-4, featuring eight different scorers and two stunning free kicks.

Also, Fulham vs. Manchester City’s 4-5 nine-goal thriller and Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle are also top games of the season, which had much excitement.

The 2025/26 Premier League Star Performers & Best XI

Many standout players performed astonishingly well and helped their team achieve their goals or success in this season’s EPL. Below, we’ll discuss some of these amazing players.

  1. Player of the Season (PFA/FWA): Of course, Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United got the Player of the Season due to his amazing performance, even when Manchester United was in bad form. He had 21 assists, and that helped take United from 15th to 3rd place.
  1. Golden Boot: Erling Haaland from Manchester City expectedly got the Golden Boot. We predicted in our early-season outright that he was the favorite to win the Golden Boot. Congrats to those who backed him. He had 27 goals in 35 games, showcasing a clinical end to the season after a mid-winter slump.
  1. Golden Glove: Arsenal’s defensive system this season would not be effective without David Raya, and he was rewarded for his heroics this season. David Raya secured his third straight Golden Glove with 19 clean sheets and various game-defining interventions.

What to Expect For Next EPL Season (2026/27)

The new Premier League season will start on 22nd August 2026, and there are somethings we are to expect from the new season.

Arsenal looks like the most stable top 6 team because their squad is young and hungry for more success. Also, they’ll likely continue with most of their squad and don’t need to undergo a rebuild like most other teams.

Man City, Liverpool, and Chelsea will be starting with new managers, and that might give Arsenal the upper hand. Manchester United might look to continue on their end-of-the-season form, but we expect a UCL finish from them next season.

Also, the EPL will welcome Frank Lampard’s Coventry, Hull City, and Ipswich back to the EPL next season.
