SANTIAGO’S PRIDE should of finished closer last time but hung at the final stages. He gets the blinkers fitted which should help. As long as he runs on a straight line at the finish, he should run into the money.

Race 4 – 2000m (Maiden Plate)
CITY LIGHTS has been running well but always finds one better than her. I think she will finally shed her maiden tag soon, and hopefully her consistency can be rewarded with a win now.

Race 5 – 1400m (Graduation Plate)
I am taking a speculative bet on the featured race on the card. WYZEACT is at the bottom of the betting boards at 25/1. However, I think he can sneak into the placings if he runs to his previous form. He is having his peak run here and carries a handy mass of 56kgs.

Race 6 – 2400m (MR 76 Handicap)
IDEAL FUTURE is better than her last two starts. Her form before those two runs was excellent with two wins and a second. If she can rediscover that form, she is a massive runner. Carded to race with 55kgs, she has upset potential.

Race 7 – 1800m (MR 66 Handicap)
CALLABURN has good form lines and is weighted to finish ahead of GUY ALEXANDER. I think he can turn the tables on the favourite and finish in the winners enclosure.

Race 8 – 1600m (MR 80 Handicap)
BACCHUS followed up his maiden win with a good second behind the progressive HEATHER’S BOY. The three-year-old is also progressive and could be ahead of the handicapper. Racing with 59kgs and top jockey Piere Strydom on board, I expect a strong run in the lucky last.
