Thursday’s horse racing action is available from Gauteng, with an eight-race program from the Vaal Main track. Racing begins at 12:25 and includes two competitive Class B events. Race 1 – 1200m (Maiden Plate)
The card opens with a work riders maiden, so no suggested bets from me. Keep an eye on the betting if you are going to have a wager, and please stake cautiously.

GAMER best form is over the mile and he represents better value than the two short-priced favourites. I think he can run into the placings at generous EW odds.

KADIZORA was nabbed at the line last time and was unlucky not to win. She carries a handy mass of 54.5kgs, and is the horse to beat in the opening leg of the Pick 6.

Race 4 – 1800m (FM 70 Handicap)
LAST CAR TO PASS followed up her debut win with a good third place last time out. That form line has been franked and she can continue her progressive form.

Race 5 – 1400m (MR 84 Handicap)
BUFFALO STORM CODY is a lightly raced colt. He has strong form and his form lines have worked out well. Despite carrying top weight, he should be competitive and fight out the finish.

Race 6 – 1000m (FM 71 Handicap)
SMELTING is in a good space and carries no weight in this sprint race. Carded to race with 48kgs, I think she can set the pace up front and manage to hold on for a top three finish.
Suggested Bet – SMELTING EW @ 10/1❌
Race 7 – 1000m (FM 90 Handicap)
VIRGINIA BEACH is better than her last start as she was coughing. She takes a drop in class and should be competitive. I expect her to contest the finish and she represents nice EW value.

Race 8 – 1000m (MR 66 Handicap)
I searched for some value in the lucky last and found PERINI PALACE. The filly is at a massive 25/1 in the betting, but I think she can defy those long odds. Her sole run with the apprentice jockey was good when she finished fourth. Carded to race with just 50kgs, if she gets away well, she can hopefully hold on to sneak a place.
