Wednesday’s horse racing action is available from the Western Cape, with a nine-race program from the Kenilworth track. Racing begins at 12:20 and includes a competitive Class B event in Race 8. Race 1 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
MRS SHACKLETON last two starts have been excellent especially since she raced winners. Now back in maiden company, she represents the value and should run into the money.

Race 2 – 1100m (Cape D Stakes)
ROUGAROUIN showed signs of a form return last time and I am backing him to confirm that run. Despite carrying top weight of 61.5kgs, he should be competitive.

Race 3 – 1400m (Maiden Plate)
TAP SHOES is better than her last start. Her debut run caught the eye and if she can run like that, she should fight out the finish here. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie takes the ride.

Race 4 – 1600m (Maiden Plate)
AFRIQUE has been running well and the form lines of his last race has been franked. If suited to the Kenilworth track, he is a leading contender to shed his maiden tag.

Race 5 – 1800m (Class 4)
OZARK has won two of his last three races and has not been heavily penalized for those wins. Richard Fourie retains the ride, and from a pole draw, the four-year-old merits healthy respect.

Race 6 – 1400m (Cape D Stakes)
BLACK PATH ran a big race last time and showed massive signs of a form return. If she can confirm that run in this race, she is a big threat at 9/1 in the betting.

Race 7 – 1400m (Class 4)
FAMILY POWER last three races have been good. She should of won her last start, but hung in the closing stages. Carded to race with 55kgs, if she runs in a straight line, she should contest the finish.

Race 8 – 1000m (Cape B Stakes)
I searched for some value in this sprint race and found PORQUE TE VAS. The mare has not finished too far back in her races. Racing with 54.5kgs, she can utilize her early gate speed to get to the front, and hopefully hang on for some EW returns.
Suggested Bet – PORQUE TE VAS EW @ 33/1❌
Race 9 – 1200m (Class 5)
You should ignore BECKY SHARP last start as she refused to gallop. Her best form has been at Kenilworth and if she decides to run this time, I give her a small EW chance.
