Wednesday’s horse racing action is available from the Western Cape, with an eight-race program from the Kenilworth track. Racing begins at 12:30 and includes a competitive Class B event in Race 8. Race 1 – 1000m (Maiden Plate)
SUMMER SNOW is having his peak run here and should be at top fitness. If he gets some luck in running, I think he can cause the upset and beat the favourite FLYING FINLEY.

Race 2 – 2000m (Open Maiden)
DOUBLE DASH was not disgraced last time against winners. She is back in maiden company and carries 57.5kgs. If she sees out the 2000m, she is a big runner at a nice EW price.

Race 3 – 2000m (Cape C Stakes)
PINOT GRIGIO followed up his maiden win with a good third. The colt looks progressive and should have more to come. I think he is still ahead of the handicapper, and will go close to winning. He represents the EW value in this race.

Race 4 – 1600m (Class 4)
ZEITZ won well when shedding his maiden tag. I am pleased that the blinkers remain, as that keeps him on task. He is a progressive three-year-old, and should run well against stronger.
Suggested Bet – ZEITZ EW @ 5/1✅ EW PLACE
Race 5 – 1600m (Class 4)
HAPPY DAYS followed up his maiden with a good second. He enjoys running with the blinkers, and carries a handy mass of 56.5kgs. I expect a good run, and he should finish in the top three.

Race 6 – 1600m (Class 4)
KAMCHATKA is a lightly raced filly with strong form lines. She is in a good space with impressive form. For me, she is the horse to beat in this Class 4 event.

Race 7 – 1200m (Class 5)
TAMBOURINE MAN has found some form and looks like he is back to his former self. On weight turnaround, he holds some of his rivals. At 6/1 in the betting, he represents the EW value.

Race 8 – 1100m (Cape B Stakes)
PORQUE TE VAS is a speedy mare who always jumps well. She carries a handy mass of 55.5kgs. My hope here is that she jumps well, and gets to the front. If she does that, she can hold on and sneak into the money at massive EW odds.
